ULUWATU TEMPLE – On TOP of Beautiful Cliff (BALI)
Uluwatu Temple is located in Pecatu Village, District of South Kuta, Badung regency of Bali. The distance between Ngurah Rai Airport to Uluwatu Temple is about 30 minute.
Pura Luhur Uluwatu or usally called Uluwatu Temple serves as a place of worship for Lord Rudra. Pura Uluwatu is believed by Hindus as a central of 9 winds and called as the Pura Sad Kahyangan. Uluwatu are famous as the best place to see the beauty of the sunset in Bali.
Uluwatu name in Sanskrit means the top of the rock. Uluwatu Temple stood firm on the reef jutting into the sea at a height of approximately 97 meters above sea level. The magnificently beautiful location where Uluwatu temple established is a magnet which makes tourists come to visit, not only can enjoy sacred and religious atmophere, but also the beautiful scenery from height.
Not less beautiful then the sights of temple in Tanah Lot, tourists who traveled to the Uluwatu temple will see the expanse of the Indian Ocean, with waves hit the foot of the cliffs.
Beside the beauty of the temple and its natural landscape, tourists can also watch traditional Balinese dance, the Uluwatu Kecak Dance. This dance is played by about 50 to 100 dancers. Kecak dancers will sit in a circle and wearing a black and white sarong. The dancers usually male and usually perform the story Ramayana. Special Characteristic of Kecak dance is sound cak, cak, cak spoken by male dancers. Usually Uluwatu Kecak Dance staged at 18:00 to 19:00 PM.
On the front gate of Uluwatu temple there are many locals rent sarong to be worn by visitors who want to enter the temple. In addition, people usually hire a tour guide who will tell the history of the existence of Uluwatu. To avoid the wild monkeys, tourists can buy snacks such as cucumber slices, nuts, and other snacks at the food stalls around the temple.
