Toei Kyoto Studio Park – Best Place to See Samurai and Ninja
Toei Kyoto Studio Park is an open-air studio which is used as the setting for the films, and also serves as a theme park. Yes, it is almost similar to Universal Studios. The difference is, in this giant studio, all of the settings nuance the Edo period (1603-1867) and Meiji era (1868-1912). Building made with scale of 1:1 in the shape of traditional architecture of Japan, starting from the Houses to the temples, arranged like a city, complete with replica of bridges and the river water flowing under.
Toei Kyoto Studio is used as the setting for nearly 200 films per year. We can freely enter the the movie sets in this Theme Park, but please don’t disturb the process of film production.
With tickets costing 2300 Yen you’ll be able to enjoy the whole Toei Kyoto Studio. Walk explore the Toei Studio make us feel like in the era of ancient Japan. The entire set is so amazing, even we can easily find Samurai or ninja in some locations, even we could asked for a photo together with them.
In this unique theme park there is no popular rides like roller-coaster or ferris-wheel. But there are several attractions typical of Japan which can be enjoyed, such as acrobatic ninja shows, superhero shows, and Samurai Sword Fighting Lesson.
One thing that make Toei Uzumasa Eigamura more attractive is the number of visitors who passing by wearing variety of traditional costume of Japan. Indeed, in the theme park, there is a wide range of traditional costume for rent, starting from the samurai costume, ninja costume, as well as the geisha, completed with the stylists. There are also performances from artists, and tour guide service by actors.
Heading to the Toei Kyoto Studio is very easy. From Kyoto Station we can use Bus No. 50 heading into Horikawa Moritmachi, then switch to bus No. 93 towards Uzumasa Eigamuramae Stop. Then you will need to walk about 5 minutes to reach Toei Kyoto Studio
