Are you an Arsenal fan? Definitely, you are not strange to hear the name of Emirates Stadium. It is home stadium of the football club that has title “the Gunners”, Arsenal FC. Located in London precisely in Halloway, this football stadium becomes the three-largest stadium in United Kingdom after Wembley and Old Trafford stadium. It is officially opened in October 2006 by the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip that represented Queen Elizabeth II. It also hosts for several international friendly football matches.
Capacity of Emirates Stadium
It is a football stadium that is sponsored by Emirates Airlines. It is because this stadium is not subsidized by the government. Because of its sponsor for 15 years contract, Emirates Airlines has the naming rights of the stadium. Actually, the former name of this stadium is Ashburton Grove or just called by The Grove. Besides for stadium building, its airline also sponsors the official shirt for Arsenal FC.
As the three-largest stadium in England, Emirates stadium has seating capacity of 60.432. Its field size is 105 meters by 68 meters covered by the grasses. The design of the stadium is marked by its ability in giving attention to the spectator experiences either general spectator or VIP spectators. It makes the stadium so intimidating. The shape of this place is three-tiered bowl while for the roof, it is used translucent polycarbonate. Then the spectators’ tribune is in all-seated.
Besides having functions as a place for football matches, Emirate Stadium is also used for several events such as music concert and conference center. For the music venue, this stadium can accommodate at about 72.000 spectators. This stadium was also used as a place for summit between French President and British Prime Minister in 2008.
Exploring Emirates Stadium by joining Stadium Tour
You can explore the stadium by taking advantage the Emirate Stadium tour package. By joining the tour, you can visit the dressing room of players, the players’ hallway, the players’ and spectators’ stage, and also the Arsenal museum. There are two type of tour packages—Self Guided Audio Tour and Legends Tour.
The self-guided audio tour offers you the chance of exploring Emirates Stadium guided by audio set. It allows you to visit some spots in stadium without any guide. It means you can walk alone. The audio itself is available in some languages such as English, Dutch, Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Mandarin. While the legends tour, you can explore the stadium accompanied by the legend former players of Arsenal such as John Radford and Kenny Sansom.
The self-guided audio tour operates in everyday start from 10 pm until 18 pm or Monday till Saturday. While the Legends tour, it operates at 13 pm for every day. Then for the museum, it also operates in everyday start from 10.30 pm till 18 pm but for Sunday it ends in 16.30 pm. The ticket price for each tour package is different. Self-guided tour ticket for adult is £18 and child is £9.5. Then, legends tour ticket is £37.5 for adult and £18.5 for child.
