Galapagos Islands should have been so familiar for our ears, isn’t it?. Yes, Galapagos island is the place that became the basis for a Charles Darwin’s issued his theory of evolution.

Regardless of how much the opposition to Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution, It still worth to entitle Galapagos Islands as the most phenomenal islands in this world. Galapagos Islands listed as one of world heritage sites by UNESCO in 1978 (read also another UNESCO world heritage site: Ottawa Rideau Canal – Longest Skateway Ever). The islands have a wide range of life unique and rare creatures.

Galapagos Islands is a natural archipelago consisting of 13 islands with active volcanoes. Galápagos Island located about 1,000 kilometers from the South American mainland. Politically, the Galapagos Islands are part of Ecuador.

Galapagos designated as a nature reserve in 1959, in which 97.5% of its territory is a place that is protected by law, while 2.5% of the area is inhabited by local citizens.

Galapagos is so famous for its natural beauty and the huge number of endemic species. Some endemic species that can only be encountered on the Galapagos Islands are like Marine Iguana, Galapagos giant tortoise and Galapagos penguin, and many more. Unique natural beauty Characteristics and rare animals that can not be found in Elsewhere in the world makes lot of tourists visit the Galapagos Island every day.

The Galapagos Islands are divided into two parts: the north and south of the equator. The equator passes the northern part of  the greatest island: Isabela. It is easy to find good accommodation there, there also available boats and aircraft that allows visitors to move from one island to another. however, the best way to enjoy the Galápagos is by boat tour.
