Amazing Skye Island (Scotland)
The Isle of Skye for some people certainly sounds unfamiliar as a tourist destination. Isle of Skye located in the northern part of the earth precisely in Scotland. Isle of Skye is the largest island in the country of Scotland where the terrain is dominated by large rocks that produce dramatic mountain scenery and majestic looks like a fairyland.
Isle of Skye is situated in the west of Scotland, included as one of Inner Hebrides Islands group. The beauty of the natural landscape of the island is the main attraction that invite many local and foreign tourists. Access to visit the island is becoming more easily with the Skye Bridge connecting it to the mainland of Scotland.
Isle of Skye having an area of 1,656 square kilometers and inhabited by about 10,000 people. At the beginning of the 19th century, the island is inhabited by more than 20,000 people, but due to the cleaning of the Highlands, many resident’s houses of Skye Island broken up and used as land for cattle and sheep, and the local people migrated to the New World (Canada, United States, Australia and New Zealand).
The largest city on the Isle of Skye is Portree; where the most interesting natural attractions is the rock Old Man of Storr. Another Unique rock is MacCleod’s Table where the top is cutted flat so it looks like a table. In addition, the Cuillin Hills also presents a beautiful panorama.
