Place de la Concorde – Historical Square of France
Place de la Concorde originally built in the order of King Louis XV as a monument to respect him. Formerly in the middle of the field was stood a giant statue of the king who was riding a horse. This place name itself changed several times, Starting from Place Louis XV, Place de la Révolution, and lastly “Place de la Concorde” as a symbol of reconciliation. Name of the Place de la Concorde itself started to be used in 1830.
Characteristic of this place is the monument and fountains. At Place de la Concorde, you will be spoiled with a beautiful view of the fountain, La Fontaine des Mers. In here you will also can see eight statues of designed by Jacques placed in each corner of the square, which is represent various major cities in France.

Place de la Concorde is located in the south of the river Seine and is in line with Axe Historique of Paris. Axe Historique is an imaginary line that divides Paris, Place de la Concorde is only 2.5 kilometers away from the Eiffel Tower.
