Stunning Giant Crystals inside Naica Cave of Mexico

Naica, a small town in the state of Cihuahua, Mexico is the most luxurious and beautiful place in the world that formed naturally, yes, it is the dream comes true.

Underground mine in Naica are owned by Industrias Peñoles, the largest mining company in Mexico that do mining for zinc, lead, and silver. Uniqueness of the Naica mine is due to the presence of sediments of giant crystal gypsums that fill the cave wall in a massive number. Actually there are two crystal caves in this mine tunnel. The first is the cave of swords (Cueva de las Espadas) located at a depth of 120 m below the ground surface, it was discovered in 1910. The size of the crystals is like a sword (+/- 1m long with a diameter of 12-15 cm).

Second cave located deeper than the cave of swords (290m below ground level), namely cave of crystals (Cueva de los Cristales), differ from the cave of swords, this cave contain giant crystal whose length is more than 11m and a diameter more than> 1m, fantastic !. You’ll find yourself like in the Superman’s planet (Crypton) in the movie if you are here.

Naica Crystal Cave was discovered in 2000 by two brothers who dug nearly 300 meters from the surface of the city of Naica. The two miners that prepare a water channel for the Peñoles company did not expect at that day they will find one of the most incredible phenomena in the world.

According to the researchers, Crystals in Naica Mine formed when water is heated to very high temperatures begin to cooled and mixed with gypsum. Over time, amazing crystals then formed naturally.

Temperatures in the cave of crystals at a depth of 290m is very hot for a normal human +/- 48° C, it is usual too see tourists fainting, feel dizziness, and some even hallucinating when visiting this beautiful underground castle.

The bad news is the existence of this extraordinary crystal cave is threatened by acts of robbers that take and sell crystal illegaly. The collector might pay tens of thousands of dollars for a crystal from Naica cave.
