Leshan Giant Buddha – Largest Buddha Statue in The World

Leshan Giant Buddha statue is located in the east of Leshan City, Sichuan Province, China. The Buddha statue is 71 meters high and sit facing Mount Emei with his feet are on the edge of the river.
Making of the Leshan Giant buddha statue began in 713 AD in the Tang Dynasty on the initiation of the Hai Tong, a Buddhist monk and finally completed in year 803. The Leshan Giant buddha statue requires more than 90 years to be completed, this Statue nominated as one of UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996.
