Kinkakuji Temple – Kyoto is the old capital of Japan located on the island of Honshu. This special town has many historic sites and It is the capital of Kyoto Prefecture, and it is the most important cultural tourism in Japan. Kyoto is always visible beautiful all year in all seasons, be there when snowy in winter, blooms of cherry blossoms in spring, the hills that is cool in the summer and the fall leaf bring extraordinary beauty in the fall.


One of the famous tourist attractions in Kyoto is Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), which is a Zen Buddhist Temple. Zen itself
comes from Japan language which is a form of Buddhism that means religion that based on the teachings of Gautama
Siddhartha/Buddha, where one of his teachings is to do a meditation to let thoughts and Let go of the way of thinking which is not good.

Kinkakuji Temple is the most popular attractions of Kyoto. Kinkakuji Temple also known as Rokuon-ji Temple or Temple of Rokuon. This temple was built by Ashikaga clan by the Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, precisely, long before the days of Edo and the Meiji Restoration.

Kinkakuji Temple is the image of an magnificent ancient Pavilion, it is so unique and arranged in an amazing functional art of architecture. Kinkakuji temple itself consists of 3 floors, 2 above floors is entirely coated by gold paper. On the day of bright gold paper will reflect the Sun’s rays perfectly, making it shine. We can also see the shadow of Kinkakuji reflected on the surface of the lake’s water in certain spots. Keep in mind, we can only see the temple from the Road around the lake, visitors can’t get into the temple building.

The first floor is called Shinden-zukuri, Palace type room named Ho-sui-in. the second floor is Buke-zukuri, type home of Samurai named Cho-on-do. The third floor is the Karayo or Zen-style called Kukkyo-cho. On the roof of the Temple of Kinkakuji There is a picture of a phoenix which is considered originate from China. Kinkakuji Temple is truly a work of art that worth to made as a mortal site site to recall the triumph of ancient time.

To reach the Temple of Kinkakuji, you can directly go to Kyoto station. From Kyoto station, you can take a bus on line B2 with the number 204 or 205. This bus tours will go around the city of Kyoto by passing many beautiful sights.

The cost to ride the tour bus is around 250 yen. The bus will stop at Kinkakujimae (in front of Kinkakuji). From bus stop, we should take a walk to get into the counter of Kinkakuji temple.
