Five Most Haunted Places in Bali
Bali Island contains all the beauty and the scenery you may find in a tourism destination. Beautiful beaches, comfortable weather, and delicious food have become the image of Bali for a long time. However, Bali is the same as other places. It has history and legend which sometimes hard to believed. There are many abandon places in Bali. Some of them are believed to be haunted and create horror stories that spread among people. The places are rarely known by people but once you read its story, you may think twice if you want to go to the places. Here the five most haunted places in Bali which have very unusual stories.
1. The Abandoned Ship in Padang Padang Beach
The story starts on the Saturday morning of July 2008. At that time, the Padang Padang beach held an international surfing competition. Before the competition started, a wreck old ship appears on the reef near the beach. It was the Ho Tsai Fa number 18, a shipping vessel which has been lost for a long time. The captain and the crews were gone and not yet found until now.
From an investigation, it was found that the ship has been seized for breaking the law such as illegal fishing and making profits from underhand means. Now, the ship has been moved from Padang Padang beach but the scary story still haunts the place.
2. Balinese Cemeteries
Actually, it is the Balinese tradition to leave a human corpse under the tree. So, it is not surprising if you see bones or skulls lined nicely under the tree in Bali. This tradition leads to the Leak story, the ghost which is believed as the inhabitant of the cemeteries. The cemeteries are almost everywhere in Bali so you have to behave properly in the island to avoid getting sick or finding something unpleasant.
3. The Ghost Palace Hotel
Although it is located near the way to Bedugul Lake, the hotel is not available for public. The horror story takes place when this hotel is built. There were two contractors who were scrambling to build this hotel. Because of unfair competition, they both used unpleasant ways to defeat their competitors. Some people said that there were many laborers died here because of the curse and the demand to rush the construction. The feeling of horror in this place is so real especially at night when the fog goes down covering the place.
4. Bounty Beach Bungalows
The abandoned bungalows are located in Gili Meno. It is a small island that you can reach by riding a small boat from Bali. The place is actually very beautiful. The bungalows were built mostly using wood with traditional Balinese style. However, this place has been abandoned since the death of tourism in Bali due to the Bali bombing in 2002.
5. Abandoned Temple in Karangasem
There are many temples in Bali and almost all of them are treated well because Balinese have their prayer there.
