Alhambra is an incredible place that become one of Spain’s best tourist attractions, Alhambra is very popular for its Islamic architecture and artful mosaics. The name Alhambra in English means “the red one” and refers to the color of the mountain where it is built. Alhambra has two great entrance doors, on the north side called the “Puerta de la Justicia” and on the south side called the “Puerta de lasArmas”.
Alhambra is a great palace as well as a fortress located in Granada, Andalusia, Spain. Alhambra was firstly built as a small fortress in AD 889 on the remains of Roman fortifications and then somehow ignored until the ruins were renovated and rebuilt in the mid 1300 AD by the Moorish emir Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar of the Emirate of Granada, who built the current palace and big walls.
The Alhambra palaces were built for the last Muslim emirs in Spain and the court of the Nasrid dynasty and they are the best artwork of the Alhambra’s design. The amazingly beautiful mosaics, intricate arches and decorative columns are the one of the best in the Islamic world.
The main concern of the architects of the Alhambra was to cover every single space with decoration, no matter the size of the space, whether it big or small. Every part of the Walls are covered with beautiful and extremely expensive ceramics and plasterwork. And as the coverings they used wooden frames that have been exclusively carved.

The best time to visit Alhambra is in the Spring or in Autumn when the temperature is just perfect and warm. Usually, during July and August in Alhambra area it could be very hot, even some days the temperature can reaches up to 40C.
